Rootcellar Green + Mineral Orange on Natural Flax Linen
Inspired by the lush bunches of carrots piled high at farmers market stalls throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond, this design begins with the dirt on the hands that sow, tend, and harvest them, honoring the growers who bring beauty and nourishment from the soil season after season.
There is always a small surprise in pulling a carrot from the earth, discovering its shape, its size, the twist of its roots, and the dirt still clinging to its skin, holding the richness and vitamins of the soil from which it grew. With their wild greens and vivid color, these summer carrots speak to the quiet abundance of the harvest and the deep connection between soil, season, grower, and table.
We consider ourselves stewards of the land through art and textile design, translating the beauty of the harvest from field sketch to table.
Inspired first through field sketch and later translated to linen through the window of art, this hand-printed design in Rootcellar Green and Mineral Orange on our signature heirloom flax linen is a tribute not only to the harvest itself, but to the families, cooks, bakers, and chefs who carry these ingredients into kitchens and onto tables, transforming the work of the land into flavor, memory, and gathering.
